The time it takes others to realize what their directions and goals in life, CL Jordan has already known that music is his calling! CL was born Kallin (pronounced Collin) Jordan Norton on April 22, 1991, in Detroit, MI. Coming from a family full of musicians (cousin is rapper Queen Pen), there's no surprise that he's been inspired to become a musician himself. Although he's young, this young man is already a veteran performer, ready to take the world by storm!
CL JORDAN began singing at the age of 2. It was then that CL had decided that he wanted to become a singer. Although he hangs with his friends, while others would go outside, he would be home practicing his music. In school he became involved in the school music programs, thus furthering his knowledge and his ambitions for music. In 1999, CL became part of a rap group, adding a new interest in his life! The group disbanded in 2001. Since then, CL has performed in school events, as well as around his community. It was at the Detroit High School of the Fine and Performing Arts (same school as the late AALIYAH) where CL has really began to leave his mark in Detroit. It was his freshman and sophomore year at DSA where he began to show his confidence as not only part of the vocal department, but also as a solo artist. It was then where he was discovered by Bottoms Up Records! CL has received Excellent and superior rating in the MSVMA Solo & Ensemble programs, As well as the MSVMA Choral Festivals. In his senor year he was inducted into the MSVMA Honors choir, even making it all the way to All-State, performing with 115 of the best of Michigan's vocalists. Now a graduate of Southfield Lathrup High School, CL is ready to take over the music industry. Now a Boss Status recording artist, CL is currently recording his debut album titled "New Beginnings"
Not only in CL a singer & rapper, CL is also a dancer and songwriter, writing every song on New Beginnings! His musical style is often compared to Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, Usher, R. Kelly, & Chris Brown. "I grew up listening to all aspects of music and Is influenced by so many artists! So to be compared to these artist is an honor. I just hope people can see my individuality when I perform onstage" says CL. CL has also acted too, being part of the hit play "The Soul of Music." So Fr. Michigan has taken a shine to CL Jordan! Now it's time for the world to get to know this 'up n coming' phenomenon!
